Jeffery Allen Flynn was born the son of Edward and Jacquelyn Flynn on 20 January 1960 in Wethersfield, CT.
He lives with his wife Peggy of 38 years in Clinton. They have a son Nick and a daughter Lisa.
Jeff graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1978, and immediately attended college, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Hartford in 1982, with a degree in Philosophy and Religion, and was then Ordained as a non-denominational Christian Minister in 1982. He also won the Best Officiant Award on The Knot and Wedding Wire for many years. In addition to officiating weddings, he performs Baptisms and Funerals.
He volunteered as Coach for both boys and girls Soccer and Basketball for 10 years, starting in 1999.
In 2003, Jeff became a Volunteer for the American Lab Rescue, finding suitable and safe homes for unwanted dogs through visits with prospective families wishing to adopt, and he continues to devote time to this cause.
In 2010 he founded Christian Open Ministry, a traveling ministry. As an Ordained Minister, he provides regular worship services at assisted living facilities, and he regularly visits the sick and infirm throughout CT. He has been a Member of the Association of Clergy International for 15 years.
He served on the Board of Directors for the Property Owners of Lake Hayward in the years 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013, and is the current President and Volunteer Property Manager for 242-246 East Main Condo Association in Clinton CT, and has been since 2010. In addition, he is the current President and Volunteer Property Manager for Maritime Knoll Professional Center, and has been since 2010.
He has over 30 years in Marketing and Advertising experience and has been a Real Estate Investor for over 25 years.
He has been a Member of Connecticut Society of Genealogists and of the Irish American Historical Society as well as the Irish American Community Center for 30 years.
Jeff was Raised a Master Mason on April 19, 2006, part of the first class to be raised in Estuary Lodge No. 43. While his primary lodge is Estuary Lodge No. 43 in Old Saybrook, he is also an Affiliate of Columbia Lodge No, 25, in Glastonbury where he is currently the Junior Warden. A Past Master of Estuary Lodge No. 43, years 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017, he is also a Past Master of Granite Lodge No. 119 for the year 2012.
Jeff served as Blue Lodge Council President for the year 2012. He was on the Grand Lodge Sessions Committee in 2012 and Co-Chairman for the year 2013. He was a District Deputy of Grand Lodge of CT, District 7B, from 2013 to 2015, and has served on the Masonicare Board of Directors for many years.
Jeff is a member of the Valley of Hartford, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite. Upon receiving his 32°, he joined the officer line of the Lodge of Perfection where he moved through the chairs to become the Thrice Potent Master for the years 2010, 2011, 2014 and 2015.
He served for many years as the Valley of Hartford's Family Life chairman and has offered many activities and trips that have bolstered fraternal fellowship, growth, and fun for both Scottish Rite members and their families.
He is the founder of the "Scottish Rite/Freemasons 5K Run/Walk to Benefit Children with Dyslexia," and was Chairman of this event for the first 5 years, raising over $50,000. To date, this event has surpassed $120,000.
He has been a member of the Valley of Hartford Membership Committee, since 2012 and continues to offer his skills and talents to the benefit of the Valley of Hartford members. He also served as the Valley of Hartford's Executive Council Chairman in the year 2012.
He was Coroneted a 33° Mason on August 30, 2011.
Jeff started his York Rite journey at Burning Bush - Washington Chapter No. 6 in Middletown. He served as High Priest for the years 2012, 2013, and 2014. He is currently a member of Pythagoras Chapter No. 17, RAM where he served as High Priest in 2019.
He became a member of Wolcott Council No. 1, R&SM, attends regularly, and is currently Principal Conductor of the Work.
He became a member of Cyrene Commandery No. 8, Knights Templar, in 2006, and was Commander for the years 2011, 2012, and 2014. He affiliated with Washington Commandery No. 1 in 2015.
He is a member of Connecticut York Rite College, and Apostles Tabernacle XXVII, Red Cross of Constantine.
Jeff has been a member of the CT DeMolay Board of Directors since 2013, and continues to serve.
He received the Legion of Honor award in February 2018. The Legion of Honor is conferred upon a Freemason who has performed unusual and meritorious service on behalf of the Order of DeMolay, and has evidenced a spirit of cooperation and appreciation for the Order of DeMolay.
